Kris Nissen (DK) claims podium at DTM Classic Cup Norisring

In 1991, Kris Nissen claimed a DTM podium finish at the Norisring for Schnitzer Motorsport with second place. 31 years later, the fast Dane managed to repeat this result again for Schnitzer Classic.

In free practice on Friday, Kris Nissen showed with P2 that he will be one of the podium contenders on the Franconian street circuit. Following P3 in qualifying, Kris secured a great second place overall and class victory in the DTM Group H cars after a thrilling first race.

In the second qualifying session, Kris continued the performance of the previous day and secured a place on the front row of the grid for Sunday’s race. From the start, the Dane took the lead, but soon had to defend pressure from the performance superior Audi 200 Turbo of Anton Werner and teammate Bruno Spengler, who started this weekend for BMW Classic Racing in cooperation with Schnitzer Classic. A few laps before the end, the Dane’s BMW M3 suffered an electronics problem. Despite losing power, Kris managed to bring the car home in a strong fourth place overall. The Dane also secured second place in the class.
