We continue the legacy of the legendary racing team Schnitzer Motorsport. Thus, it is our mission to preserve original classic racing cars for future generations and relive the history – in our workshop in the Black Forest and on the race tracks around the world.
Fairness, respect and integrity, coupled with the highest standards of professionalism and quality – these core values of the Schnitzer team also form the basis of our work at Schnitzer Classic.
We restore and service historic racing cars with a special focus on BMW, starting from the 1970s with the legendary BMW 3.5 CSL and BMW M1 Procar, continuing with the iconic touring cars BMW 635, BMW M3 E30 and BMW E36, and the legendary GT and touring car models of the E46 and E92 series. Our services range from repair work, engine inspections and revisions, to full vehicle restorations. Furthermore we offer track and race support and organize exclusive events for our customers.

Trautwein, the name behind the Schnitzer Classic GmbH also represents success and quality. In 1964, Georg Trautwein and his two sons Georg jr. and Helmut founded Trautwein Präzisionstechnik GmbH, a manufacturing company for high-precision turned parts.
In 1985, today’s Schnitzer Classic CEO Stefen Trautwein took over the company’s management from his grandfather to develop the company into a hidden champion. After the merger of Trautwein Präzisionstechnik GmbH into the Firner Trautwein Group in 2010, Stefen Trautwein stepped back from the CEO position and decided to follow his passion for race and sports cars as his new profession. He founded ATH Trautwein GmbH, a company specialized in the restoration and sales of exclusive racing and sports cars. From the very beginning with a preference for BMW racing cars, the successfully completed projects include vehicles such as BMW M1 Procar, BMW E36 STW, BMW E46 WTCC, Maurer BMW Formula 2 and many others.
With the foundation of Schnitzer Classic in 2022, a new milestone is marked. By taking over the historical parts, the racing archive and the historic racing cars of Schnitzer Motorsport, two successful journeys merge, each driven by the passion for racing, quality and precision. The result is impressive: more than 50 years of experience in motorsport and high precision technology and a legacy to be continued.
