The Schnitzer Classic Tribute, held as part of the Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring, touched the hearts of fans and participants alike. Around 43,000 spectators attended the Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring from August 7–9, 2026 – many of them eagerly following the demonstration runs and live talks featuring Schnitzer legends.

Among the standout moments were the drives of legendary race cars: Uwe Alzen took the wheel of the BMW M3 GT2, the car he used to win the 24 Hours of Nürburgring in 2010, Altfrid Heger returned to the track in the BMW 635 CSi Gr. A, and the BMW 2002 Schnitzer Turbo Group 5 thrilled spectators with its unmistakable sound.

The live talks with former Schnitzer Motorsport drivers and officials, hosted by Karsten Arndt (host of the podcast “Alte Schule”), also drew great interest. In personal conversations, the legends shared countless anecdotes from the team’s history, provided plenty of entertaining moments, and honored the legacy of Herbert Schnitzer Sr., his brother Josef, and his half-brothers Dieter and Charly Lamm.
