Bruno Spengler and Kris Nissen winning for Schnitzer Classic in Hockenheim

Two class wins and overall podium for BMW Classic Racing driver Bruno Spengler (CAN) and a class win for Schnitzer Classic veteran Kris Nissen (DK) at the DTM Classic season finale Hockenheim.

Our two drivers showed a strong pace in the first qualifying session and secured a very good starting position for Saturday’s race with 4th (Bruno) and 6th (Kris) on the grid.

In the race, both drivers immediately found a good rhythm and put the clearly superior competition under pressure with consistently fast lap times. Thanks to impressive driving consistency, Bruno Spengler crossed the finish line in 3rd place overall after 30 minutes and thus secured a place on the overall podium as well as class victory! Kris Nissen followed directly behind in 4th place, which also secured him a convincing class win!

On Sunday, both drivers continued their strong performance from the previous day. Kris Nissen was able to improve his lap time by almost a second compared to Saturday’s qualifying and put his BMW M3 E30 in a strong 3rd place overall. Bruno Spengler, also had the pace for 3rd place, but his fastest lap was cancelled due to track limits, so the 2012 DTM Champ had to settle for 4th on the grid.

Kris Nissen was unfortunately unable to convert his great grid position into another class win. A puncture forced the fast Dane to retire shortly after the start. Bruno Spengler instead continued where he had left off the day before and delivered a thrilling fight against the much more powerful competitors. With an impressive overtaking maneuver two laps from the end, the Canadian secured a very strong 4th place overall and another superior class win!
